In math we are continuing our chapter on teen numbers. We will be able to recognize them, write them, and find their partners.
In science, we finished up our mini-unit on germs. Since winter is a time to get sick, we want to stop the spread of germs as much as we can. We have been practicing how to cover our cough and sneeze and washing our hands for as long as it takes to sing “Happy Birthday.” Please remember to keep your child home if they are feeling sick. It is better to keep them home until they feel better, than to spread the germs to everyone else.
In reading we are almost finished with our Alphafriends. We only have 4 more to go before we will be able to read and write all the sounds of the alphabet. When we finish them we will start the Daily 5. I am very impressed with how well we are reading our guided reading books. Thank you for all your hard work that you do with your child every night.
In religion we finished up learning about the birth of Jesus and the journey Mary and Joseph had to take. We are now learning about the time of Epiphany and are looking forward to Catholic Schools Week, which starts January 25. I will soon be testing on the prayer we’ve been practicing, The Hail Mary. Can you believe we are almost finished with the second quarter? My, how time flies when you are having fun!
