We have had such a fun filled month. We read the story of The Gingerbread Boy. Then we put in order the people/animals that chased him until finally he was eaten by the sneaky fox!
First of all I want to give soooo many thanks to all the wonderful parents who saw my last minute post last week Friday about needing gingerbread house supplies! We had an overabundance of supplies, because you all are so wonderful!! So thank you from the bottom of my heart! The kids had so much fun making gingerbread houses with their reading buddies! We have had such a fun filled month. We read the story of The Gingerbread Boy. Then we put in order the people/animals that chased him until finally he was eaten by the sneaky fox! We ended our Christmas celebrations with a trip to The North Pole on the Polar Express! We had to earn our ticket by helping out with a chore or random act of kindness, and we all did such a wonderful job to earn our tickets! The time has come for us to celebrate the birth of Jesus! I want to wish every one a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Sorry this is last minute!
We are decorating Gingerbread Houses with our 5th grade buddies on Monday, December 21. If you read this and can help with supplies, that would be great! We need: graham crackers white frosting small candy canes mini marshmallows gumdrops M&Ms or Skittles gummy bears Smarties (any small/light candies) Thanks so much for all your help on such short notice!!! Dear Parents,
I am sorry! I forgot to pass out star words at the end of the day today (Monday). So if your child comes home without them, it was my fault! They will have them tomorrow! Sorry again! Even though we’ve had a few unseasonably warm days, we have also had cold days. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the changing weather outside. Once there is snow on the ground students need snow pants and boots. Also, next week Friday we will be starting our winter gym. If you have not done so already, please send an extra pair of tennis shoes with your child to keep at school. They will be changing into these shoes when we get to the gym. November was an exciting month. In reading and handwriting, we have learned a lot of new Alphafriends and can read and write a lot of new words with them. Also, with the help of our Star Words we can read and write sentences. (See our Star Word Trees below) We’ve even started reading books! In Math, we are starting to learn about teen numbers and finding groups of 10 with help from the “10 bug”. In fact we can even add and subtract to 5! December brings a lot of exciting events to look forward to. It is the month of Advent, a time to look forward to the birth of Jesus! Also, we have our Christmas program to look forward to. We have been practicing hard and are doing a great job remembering the words to our songs. Have a happy December, a Merry Christmas, and stay warm if you can. Upcoming Events December 8- Holy day of Obligation- Kindergarten at Mass December 11- Winter Gym starts December 17- Kindergarten at Mass December 17 – Christmas Program (High school auditorium 6:30) December 23-January 3 – Christmas Break It was so much fun to see all of your "Turkeys in Disguise". We were so creative!! I love seeing what our imaginations can think of!
