We have been finishing up with our last couple reading strategies (this week was Flippy Dolphin) and now have started learning Daily 5 with Read to Self. We are building our stamina and have made it to 5 minutes! We are also learning about the letter Silent E and got to play a fun game with out beach ball to practice that skill.
We have also finally gotten a chance to open our big science Einstein Kit to start our unit on Balls and Ramps. We are learning about the differences and similarities between balls and also brainstorming different kinds of balls that we use. I think we came up with the biggest list ever!!!
We also had a couple (ok a whole colony!) of visitors. Mason was kind enough to bring his ant farm to share with all of us. It was so neat seeing the ants digging tunnels! We may have had a few casualties when the lid of the ant farm accidentally fell off and we had them all trying to escape (RIP little ants), but I'm glad I was able to act fast enough that only 3 or 4 escaped!
Quote of the day: While taking the class picture with the ant farm, "The ants look like they are all at church because they are all gathered together." Jack Such a sweet observation!!!!
