We also watched how to make a Mini-ball game, which I linked below as well. Maybe some ideas for some rainy day fun during summer :)
Today in class, we made balls out of clay. We found out they could be good rollers, but they definitely were not good bouncers! We watched a video about how to make our own bouncy ball out of supplies we can find around our house. It is linked below if you would like to watch it.

We are into the last month of school. The weather is slowly getting warmer and everyone is anxious to get outside on those gorgeous days.
This last month of school is no exception to the exciting events that we will have as we wrap up the end of our school year. On Monday, we learned all about JDRF and what it's like for kids to live with Type 1 diabetes. This will prepare us for our walk in a couple weeks. We are also getting ready for the school talent show on the last week of school. I’m excited to see all the amazing acts this year! The Auction from the Heart was on Saturday. Thank you to those who donated items, attended, or bought items to raise money for our school. In math, we are finishing up our last chapter. It is a review of all the previous chapters plus a few new concepts thrown into the mix. We are continuing to use our math boards and practicing addition and subtraction. We are doing a great job on our math homework, thank you for all your hard work: parents and students. Science has been an exciting time in our classroom as well. In our Einstein Kit, we are exploring how balls move, the bounciness of certain balls, and how well some balls can roll. Later on we will be able to make our own balls, and make ramps for balls. We will need empty toilet paper rolls to make our ramps. Please continuing to collect toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, or wrapping paper rolls and send them with your child. Thank you to all who have already donated. The end is near, pretty soon everyone will be on to first grade. We are already beginning to plan for our kindergarten graduation. It will be held on the last day of school, Wednesday June 8th. We will have a social with snacks and drinks from 8-10. You are welcome to join us any time during those two hours. Please let me know if you will be attending so Mr. Balza can provide enough food and drinks. We will also be giving out candy bar awards and showing a short video of the students' year. You are welcome to have a copy, again please let me know so we can have enough copies available. At 10:00 we will have an all school mass where the students will receive their diploma and a certificate if any had perfect attendance. We are so excited, so let’s have a great end to the year! Upcoming Events May 16- JDRF walk May 24- Kindergarten goes to church May 30- Memorial Day – No School June 7- Talent Show 1:00 June 8 –Kindergarten graduation & Last day of School |
