In Writing we have been doing such a great job writing stories about our lives. As authors and illustrators we can now draw our picture, label it, and write one or two sentences. Since we are almost done with our Alphafriends in reading, we know pretty much all the sound and we are using that knowledge to spell with our best kindergarten spelling!
In Social Studies we are learning about Government- Working Together. We read the book A Day with Police Officers and learned about not only rules and laws police officers enforce, but rules we have to follow at home and school,
We have a few things to look forward to in the next month. We have the Cake Walk and raffle (keep buying tickets!) on Thursday, February 9. Also on that day, we will be celebrating the 100th day of school with some fun activities all centered around 100...stay tuned. Finally, on Valentine's Day we will be exchanging Valentine's as a class. Have a great time working on your Valentine’s boxes as a family.
Remember to keep reading and tracking your minutes on your Jeremiah reading log! Jeremiah will be here on Monday, February 6 to help us get excited to READ, READ, READ!
I hope everyone has a great February and enjoy the fact that our days are finally getting longer!! Stay warm!
