In Reading, we have finished learning all of our Superkids. Hot Rod was the last one and he taught us about the letter Hh. When the Superkids talk about themselves as a group they use the word "Us", so now we are learning about our final vowel the letter Uu. Moving forward, the Superkids are now going to be teaching us the remaining letters of the alphabet. We are getting so good at using all the sounds we know from the superkids to blend and read words. Please practice with your child their star word rings and guided reading books. If your child is getting really good at reading their star words, they can start spelling and writing them for you.
In Math, we are learning more shapes, but this time we are starting to learn the names of the solid (3D) shapes. We are also continuing to practice addition and subtraction problems. We are using our Math Mountains and Tiny Tumblers to see all the partners of numbers 1-10. There are many ways we have learned to solve these. Talk about which way your child enjoys the most. 1.) Using our fingers 2.) using the number line 3.) drawing a picture 4.) knowing it in our brain
We have also starting learning "greater than" and "less than" as we compare two numbers.
Let's hope we can get through the rest of this week with no more snow days! I hope you have a safe and WARM spring break if you can!
