READING-
Last week we finished up our work with our Super kid Cass. Now this week, we got a new Super kid, Oswald. Oswald helps us with the letter Oo and the short letter sound. Oswald's favorite thing to do is learn about odd animals such as the ostrich, ox, and ocelot. He also likes to draw and make up new animals and give them odd names like ott-ott and crid.
In math we read the book Anno's Counting Book. It is a book of scenes for each number 0-12 that show how a town is built and how it has changed over the course of the year. Students had a chance to make some of their own scenes for numbers 2-5. We have some really great artists. We had underwater scenes to garden and zoo scenes. They were really neat and students had a great time sharing them with the class. We have now started on our shapes and learning that shapes are all around us in everyday objects. See what shapes you and your child can find around your house and neighborhood.
